Working OT in Mount B

Mount Brydges Bulldogs have opened up a two games to none lead on the Petrolia Flyers in the first round playoff series between the two rivals from the West Yeck Division of the Provincial Jr. Hockey League. The latest win for Mount B was a 6-5 overtime verdict before a partisan gathering of more than 250 fans at Tri Town Ice Arena.

The best of seven series will resume on Thursday evening of this week in Petrolia. The Bulldogs will then return home to Mount Brydges for a Saturday night match against the Flyers in a slated 7:30 p.m. start at Tri Town Ice Arena.

Scoring goals has not been an issue thus far in this West Yeck set between the fifth seed Bulldogs and the fourth ranked Flyers. Mount Brydges has out scored Petrolia 14-10 by way of an 8-5 win to begin the series ahead of the 6-5 overtime decision.

Connor Castellarin was the OT man of the hour for Mount Brydges as he clicked for the Game 2 deciding goal.

It was Dom DiFrancesco and J.J. Fogarty who were the regulation time leaders for Mount B in the Game 2 victory as both players netted two goals apiece. Joey Crngarov scored the Bulldogs’ other goal while Noah Cameron contributed three assists.
