Weekend wanderings
Tecumseh Eagles of the Under 15 rep level Bluewater Hockey League and Mount Brydges Bulldogs of the Provincial Jr. Hockey League both had a perfect weekend. Meanwhile, the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League wrapped up a three game road swing with a pair of narrow losses.
Tecumseh Eagles 8, Belle River Canadiens 0. Playing on the road, Tecumseh outshot and outscored Belle River in a one-sided contest. Carter Pluss and Seb Lehoux paced the Eagles with two goals apiece while Dom Barry, Brock (Hard Rock) Donais, Myles Gray and Michael Janceski all tallied solo markers in front of the shutout goaltending of Christian Zgomba.
Tecumseh Eagles 6, Belle River Canadiens 3. Belle River came up with a better showing on the road in Tecumseh but the first place Eagles completed the weekend sweep. Dom Barry bagged a pair of goals to lead the Eagles while Michael Janceski, Myles Gray, Daniel Thompson and Wesley Smith scored once each in front of goalie Owen Whitehead. Tecumseh is atop the standings of the eight team BHL with a record of 10-4-1 and has an overall mark of 17-6-1 on the season.

Mount Brydges Bulldogs 2, Aylmer Spitfires 1. Ben Funston scored the game winner, Tim Jozsa had the other goal and Logan Griffiths made 34 saves to spark Mount B to the road win.
Mount Brydges 5, North Middlesex Stars 3. Logan Forster and J.J. Fogarty clicked for two goals apiece and Ben Funston had the other as Mount B boosted its record to 14-12-1 and moved to within four points of first place in the hotly contested West Yeck Division of the PJHL. Logan Griffiths made 34 saves for the home side.
Windsor Spitfires 6, Peterborough Petes 3. The Spitfires started the three game road trip by doubling up the Petes. Captain Liam Greentree, playing in his final game of the 2025 portion of the schedule for the Spitfires before departing for Team Canada as it prepares for the World Junior Hockey Championships, had a goal and two assists. Meanwhile, defenseman Anthony Cristoforo tallied twice and Ethan Belchetz, Cole Davis and Shawn Costello with his first OHL goal rounded out the scoring for the Spitfires, who got three assists from Carson Woodall and 28 saves from Joey Costanzo.

Kingston Frontenacs 4, Windsor Spitfires 3. Anthony Cristoforo, Ethan Garden and Beksultan Makysh scored for the Spits in defeat.
Ottawa 67’s 2, Windsor Spitfires 1. Ace defenseman Carson Woodall scored the lone goal for the Spits, who will take a record of 21-8-4 — good for second place in the Western Conference of the OHL, just two points back of the Flint Firebirds — into a Thursday home game against the Soo Greyhounds. The game will be the last one before the Christmas break for the Spits, who will then be off until December 28.
