U16 Spits, U15 Eagles win

Windsor Under 16 Jr. Spitfires of the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario and the Tecumseh Under 15 Eagles of the Bluewater Hockey League both scored home ice victories today.
Jr. Spitfires 4, Kitchener Jr. Rangers 3. After trailing 2-0, three goals by Roman Shtefan and a solo marker and two assists from Carter Trudell propelled the Jr. Spitfires to the come from behind triumph over Kitchener. Holten McPhedran got the win between the pipes. Windsor improved to 2-5-1 with the victory and Jr. Spitfires head coach Matt Zuccato liked some of what he saw.
“I think we got rewarded with some nice puck movement in the o-zone and we were able to finish off some nice passing plays,” Zuccato relayed to Hockey News Windsor. “However, we still need to get much better on the defensive side of the puck to make it a little easier on ourselves. Getting saves in those situations have helped us.”
Tecumseh 5, Belle River Canadiens 2. Solo goals by Carter Pluss, Wesley Smith, Daniel Thompson, Seb Lehoux and Brock Donais lifted the Eagles to their fourth win of the regular season against three losses in front of goalie Owen Whitehead, who made 23 saves.
