U16 Jr. Spitfires go 1-2-1

Windsor Jr. Spitfires of the Under 16 level of the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario are back home from a four game stint at the prestigious Wendy Dufton Memorial Tournament in London. The U16 Jr. Spitfires came away with a record of 1-2-1 through the four rather evenly matched contests.

Following is a recap of the four games.

Alex West

Burlington Eagles 3, Windsor 1. Captain Alex West scored the lone goal for the Jr. Spitfires in the tournament opener at the Western Fair Sports Centre.

Windsor 3, Sudbury Jr. Wolves 1. Holten McPhedran got the win between the pipes and Carter Trudell, Nathan Mariuz and Cooper Disher with the empty net clincher tallied for the Jr. Spitfires.

Mississauga Senators 4, Windsor 2. Gavin Diemer and Liam Fitzmaurice scored for the Jr. Spitfires in defeat.

Windsor 4, Peterborough Jr. Petes 4. The Jr. Spitfires ended the tournament with a tie. Nathan Mariuz, Liam Fitzmaurice — both with their second of the tournament — Roman Shtefan and Marco Masse all had solo goals for Windsor.
