Third shutout for Costanzo
Windsor Spitfires elevated their record to 14-3-2 atop the Western Conference of the Ontario Hockey League on Thursday with a 3-0 whitewash of the visiting Kingston Frontenacs.
Spitfires ace goalie Joey Costanzo made 20 saves for his third shutout of the season in improving his record to 11-2-0 with a league best 1.81 goals against average and .918 save percentage.
Captain Liam Greentree — with his 10th goal of the season in just 11 games — along with fellow veteran forwards A.J. Spellacy and Jack Nesbitt all tallied solo markers for the Spitfires, who play next on Saturday when the Brampton Steelheads visit the WFCU Center for a 7:05 p.m. opening face-off.
