Spits sign d-man DeBruyn
The Spitfires have officially signed a 2009 birth year defenseman from the 2025 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft.
He is Jesse Debruyn, who Windsor picked in the fourth round of the ’25 OHL Draft.
The 6 foot, 180 pound defender spent the majority of the ’25-26 season with the Komoka Kings of the Greater Ontario Hockey League, tallying eight goals,19 assists, 27 points in 47 games. DeBruyn then played in six OHL games for the Spitfires.
Spitfires general manager Billy Bowler noted the upside of DeBruyn.
“Jesse is an all-around defenceman who can play in all situations,” relayed Bowler. “We expect him to continue to grow into a prominent role with us.”
