Spits forward on Team USA
Incoming Windsor Spitfires forward Ty Bergeron is one of five Ontario Hockey League players who are on the Team USA roster that will compete in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup that begins this week.
Bergeron, who has a 2009 birth date and who is from the Metro Detroit area, was a third round pick by the Spitfires at the 2025 OHL priority selection draft. He played the ’25-26 season in the Tier 1 junior level United States Hockey League before opting to sign an OHL package deal with the Spitfires earlier this off season.
The 6 foot 2, 198 pound Bergeron is a client of Windsor native and Detroit based player agent Eddie Mio of Octane Sports.
The aforementioned 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup is slated to take place this week — Aug. 3-8 — in Edmonton.
