They both hold home ice advantage in the first round of the Ontario Hockey League playoffs. And the no. 2 seed Windsor Spitfires and the no. 3 seed Flint Firebirds both have two games to none leads in their respective Western Conference sets via home ice dominance.

Both teams again came up victorious with Saturday night home ice victories.

Spitfires 4, Guelph 1. Captain Liam Greentree fired home two goals and Joey Costanzo made 28 saves as Windsor won for the second time at home to start the best of seven series. In addition to Greentree’s two goals, fellow National Hockey League draft picks A.J. Spellacy and Jack Nesbitt also scored for the Spitfires, who have now out-scored the Storm 8-1 in the two games.

Firebirds 11, Owen Sound 1. It was another blowout win for Flint, which took the opener 8-1. In the 11-1, Game 2 thrashing, Kevin He scored twice and nine others had solo tallies as the Firebirds skated past the visiting Attack with ease. Chris Thibodeau, Jimmy Lombardi, Darian Anderson, Alex Kostov, Nathan Aspinall, Jacob Battaglia, Brady Smith, Ryland Cunningham and Xavier Tessier all tallied solo markers for Flint in front of goalie Mason Vaccari, who made 25 saves.
