Spitfires & Flint for a pair
Tied atop the Western Conference of the Ontario Hockey League with 64 points apiece, the Windsor Spitfires and Flint Firebirds will face off tonight and Saturday.
The Spitfires have played one less game than Flint and take a record of 29-9-6 into tonight’s 7:05 tilt at the WFCU Centre in Windsor. Flint has a record of 30-11-4.
Windsor will wear its alternate jersey for tonight’s match. It is a reprise from the uniform that the Spitfires wore from 1987 to 2008 when they played downtown at venerable Windsor Arena. (logo at left.)
The two teams will then go up against each other again on Saturday night in Flint in what is slated as a 7 p.m. opening draw at the Dort Financial Centre.
