Spitfires win their 16th
Slump? What slump? The Spitfires shrugged off a mini tailspin on Friday with a tidy 4-1 home ice win over the Saginaw Spirit.
Windsor now has a record of 16-4-3 atop the Western Conference standings of the Ontario Hockey League.
Captain Liam Greentree scored twice — he now has 14 goals in just 15 games — and A.J. Spellacy and Ethan Garden netted solo tallies in support of goalie Joey Costanzo, who had 22 saves. Costanzo now has a record of 12-2-1 to go with a 1.90 goals against average and .916 save percentage.
UP NEXT: The Spitfires are in Saginaw tonight and then complete a busy weekend on Sunday with a 4:05 p.m. home match at the WFCU Center against the Guelph Storm. The Spits will be out to avenge a recent, ugly 8-5 loss in Guelph that had some Windsor followers in a bit of a panic about the direction of the team.
