Spitfires roster at 23 players
General manager Billy Bowler and head coach Greg Walters have set the roster for the Windsor Spitfires at 14 forwards, seven defensemen and two goalies ahead of three more exhibition games and the Sept. 18 start to their ’26-27 Ontario Hockey League regular season schedule.
Forwards. Returnees include overage Anthony Cristoforo and National Hockey League draft pick Caden Harvey as well as Ethan Garden, Beksultan Makysh, Johnny McLaughlin, Shawn Costello, Cole Dubowsky and Max Brocklehurst. Incoming rookies are Ty Bergeron, Ian Inskip, Bodgan Yakushevsky, 2026 priority selections draft first rounder Lauchlan Whelan, Hamza Havusic and NHL draft pick Michal Svrcek.
Defensemen. Overage Conor Walton and fellow returnees Jonathan Brown and NHL draft pick Andrew Robinson. Incoming defenders are Grady Spicer, Jesse Debruyn, Sam Wathier and Drake Gram.
Goalies. Returnee Michael Newlove and rookie Jake Windbiel.
To LaSalle. Among the players assigned to the LaSalle Vipers of the Greater Ontario Hockey League — the Spitfires nearby affiliate team — is big defenseman Jake LaMontagne, who Windsor took with its fourth round pick at this year’s OHL priority selections draft.
