Spitfires are even at 3-3-1

A 4-2 loss to the Guelph Storm followed by a 4-1 win over the Owen Sound Attack is the result of a short two game weekend road swing for the Spitfires.

Thus, through seven games of the ’26-27 Ontario Hockey League regular season, Windsor is at the .500 mark per record of 3-3-1.

Special Teams. The Spitfires continue to sputter on the power play with a league-worst conversion rate of 7.7 per cent. Windsor’s penalty kill, however, is fifth best in the OHL at 84.0 per cent.

Top Two Scorers. Rookie stalwart Bogdan Yakushevsky leads all Windsor players with five goals, four assists, nine points in seven games. Up next is defenseman Andrew Robinson with one goal, five assists, six points in only four games.

Twine Tenders. Rookie goalie Jake Windbiel has a record of 2-1-0 to go with a 2.66 goals against average and .871 save percentage. Meanwhile, second year net minder Michael Newlove has a record of 1-2-1 with a 3.08 goals against average and .861 save percentage.
