The Spitfires have room for a third overage player, should they choose to add one. Hockey News Windsor has confirmed that overage forward Owen Outwater has cleared Ontario Hockey League waivers.

A former first round pick by the North Bay Battalion at the 2021 OHL priority selections draft, Outwater also skated for the Kingston Frontenacs before being acquired by the Spitfires during the ’23-24 OHL season.

Outwater, who was a healthy scratch for five of Windsor’s first 13 games of this season and managed two assists, has had shoulder injury issues throughout his OHL career.

The departure of Outwater leaves the Spitfires with two overage players — goalie Joey Costanzo and defenseman Wyatt Kennedy.
