As it stands now, the Spitfires will not be getting high scoring defenseman Carson Woodall back as an overage player next season.  That is because Woodall — a 10th round pick by Windsor at the 2022 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft — has received a Division 1, National Collegiate Athletic Association commitment to play at prestigious Boston College effective the ’26-27 season.

The NCAA Eagles of Boston College are members of Hockey East.

Woodall, a local Belle River product who has a 2006 birth date and stands in at 5 feet 11, 180 pounds, leads all OHL defenseman in scoring thus far this season with nine goals, 45 assists, 54 points in 50 games.

Now in his third season with the OHL Spitfires, Woodall has career totals of 20 goals, 105 assists, 125 points in 184 games, playoffs included.
