New kid helps St. Mary’s
Third place St. Mary’s Lincolns skated into Chatham Memorial Arena on Sunday and left with a 5-4 win over the Maroons, who are in top spot in the Western Conference of the Greater Ontario Hockey League.

One of the St. Mary’s goals was scored by 2006 birth year forward Callum McAuley, who was making his debut for the Lincolns after being acquired from the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League in a cash transaction.
McAuley, who was the Soo’s captain, played in 127 games, regular season and playoffs included, and totalled 55 goals, 57 assists, 112 points for the Thunderbirds in an NOJHL career that began in 2023.
As for St. Mary’s, they now have a record 18-6-2, good for 38 points, which is seven behind Chatham, which leads the 12 team Western Conference with a record of 21-5-3.
