A whopping 32 goals in five games — 29 of them coming in their four wins — was the overwhelming statistic as the Mount Brydges Bulldogs sidelined the Petrolia Flyers in the opening round of the playoffs within the West Yeck Division of the Provincial Jr. Hockey League.

After Mount Brydges took the first two games of the best of seven set by 8-5 and 6-5 scores, Petrolia rebounded with a one sided 9-3 cuffing of the Bulldogs.

Undaunted, Mount Brydges closed out the series with a pair of resounding victories, upending Petrolia by 8-2 and 7-1 margins to leave no doubt as to which was the better team in the  playoff showdown.

The dominance of the Bulldogs was somewhat surprising as Mount Brydges had finished fifth in the West Yeck during the regular season, one point back of fourth place Petrolia.
