Greentree part of big NHL deal
Spitfires captain Liam Greentree has had his National Hockey League rights dealt from the Los Angeles Kings to the New York Rangers.
A 6 foot 2, 205 pound, 2006 birth year forward, Greentree was a first round pick by Los Angeles at the 2024 NHL Draft and subsequently signed an entry level contract with the Kings.
The Rangers today obtained Greentree from the Kings in exchange for 34 year old veteran forward Artemi Panarin, who is an elite NHL playmaker.
Greentree has clicked for 23 goals, 22 assists, 45 points in just 34 Ontario Hockey League games for Windsor thus far this season. He is in his fourth OHL season with the Spitfires and has 299 points in 223 regular season games.
