LaSalle whitewashes Elmira
Jake Windbiel made 32 saves and the LaSalle Vipers got into the win column in their opening round playoff series with the Elmira Sugar Kings before a partisan crowd of close to 800 fans tonight at the Vollmer Center.
A 4-0 win by LaSalle was its first of the series as Elmira now leads the best of seven set two games to one.
Game four in the Greater Ontario Hockey League Western Conference playoff series between no. 2 seed Elmira and no. 7 seed LaSalle is slated for this Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Vollmer.
Windbiel wasn’t the only Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft pick of the Windsor Spitfires who played a role in the Vipers’ Game 3 victory. Max Brocklehurst and Grady Spicer each scored once and rookie defenseman Luke St. John (in photo above) had a pair of assists.
Matteo Vilardi — a supplemental draft pick of the OHL Spitfires — and Michael Cunha rounded out the LaSalle scoring.
