Firebird is fit for a King
Jimmy Lombardi has his Christmas present from the Los Angeles Kings. The Flint Firebirds forward, who is among the top 10 scorers in the Ontario Hockey League, has been signed to a National Hockey League entry level contract by Los Angeles.
The Kings took the 2007 birth year skater in the fourth round of the 2025 NHL Draft from the OHL Firebirds.
Lombardi (in photo at left), has been having a career OHL year for Flint at the midway point of this ’25-26 season. A second round pick by Flint at the 2023 OHL priority selections draft, the 6 foot, 187 pound Lombardi has 21 goals, 20 assists, 41 points in 33 games thus far this season.
In two previous seasons with Flint, Lombardi had 20 goals in total. Thus, he has already surpassed his goal total of the previous two seasons in this one.
