Davis delivers for Spitfires
Veteran forward Cole Davis scored late in the third period — his seventh of the season — to force overtime and then tallied the only goal in the shootout as the Spitfires rallied for a 4-3 overtime win over the visiting Owen Sound Attack on Friday.
The win boosted Windsor’s record to 12-2-1 atop the Western Conference standings of the Ontario Hockey League.
Rookie Beksultan Makysh, with his seventh goal of the season and Jack Nesbitt, with his fourth, also scored for the Spitfires. Joey Costanzo got the win in the net for the Spitfires in boosting his record to 9-1-0.
The Spits are home again on Sunday afternoon, with the Saginaw Spirit at the WFCU Centre for a scheduled 4:05 p.m. start.
