Brantford Bulldogs in first
How close is the race for first place in the Ontario Hockey League? Only six points separate the top six teams among the 20 members of the OHL.
Heading into the final seven weeks of the regular season slate the Brantford Bulldogs lead the pack with 75 points from a record of 34-7-7.
Next up are the Ottawa 67’s with 73 points, the Windsor Spitfires and Barrie Colts with 70 points apiece and the Kitchener Rangers and Flint Firebirds, both with 69.
BULLDOG FIRE POWER
Brantford has six players who already have 50 points or more thus far this season.
Caleb Malhotra leads the way for the Bulldogs with 23 goals, 39 assists, 62 points followed by Jake O’Brien at 18-42-60 (in just 34 games), Marek Vanacker with 35-24-59 totals, Adam Benak with 22-34-56 numbers (in just 33 games), Cooper Dennis at 25-28-53 and Windsor product Charlie Paquette at 24-26-50.
Brantford has scored a league leading 217 goals and allowed 132, which is the second fewest in the entire OHL.
