Hall of Famer Mark Turner
He rose from the Junior B ranks with the Windsor Royals and Sarnia Bees to four years in the Ontario Hockey League as a productive forward with the Sudbury Wolves, Kingston Frontenacs, Windsor Spitfires and Soo Greyhounds before embarking on a lengthy minor pro journey that included stops with five different teams in the East Coast Hockey League.

And it was 546 points over 528 games as one of the Top 25 producers in the history of the ECHL that has earned Windsor’s Mark Turner a recent induction into the league’s Hall of Fame. Since the ECHL Hall of Fame was established in 2008, only 67 individuals have been inducted, making Turner one of a chosen few. Notably, there is a special ECHL section at the prestigious Hockey Hall of Fame in downtown Toronto.
Since retiring as a player at age 38, the now 57 year old Turner has remained active in the game as a respected coach in the Windsor-Essex region.
Turner, who now coaches the Windsor Jr. Spitfires at the Under 14 AAA level of the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario, has also been back of the bench in the Greater Ontario Hockey League with the LaSalle Vipers and in the Provincial Jr. Hockey League with the Amherstburg Admirals and Lakeshore Canadiens. And he had a seven year run as an assistant coach with the OHL Spitfires.
