Spits light up Knights
Jack Nesbitt and Cole Davis netted two goals apiece and the Spitfires skated to an 8-5 victory over the London Knights today before more than 6,200 fans at the WFCU Center in Windsor.

The Spitfires now have 94 points on the Ontario Hockey League season from a record of 44-16-6.
Windsor has already clinched first place in the OHL’s West Division and will be the second seed behind London in the Western Conference playoffs. The Spitfires have two games to play in the regular season ahead of the looming OHL playoffs.
Captain Liam Greentree, with his 49th goal of the season, Luke McNamara, Noah Morneau and defenseman Conor Walton also scored for the Spitfires. It was a big afternoon for Windsor defensemen as in addition to Walton’s goal, fellow defenders Josef Eichler, Wyatt Kennedy and Carson Woodall all had two assists.
Windsor, which at one time trailed 3-1 in the game, outshot league leading London by a 36-22 margin.
Back to Greentree, he has two games left to try to reach the 50 goal mark and join linemate Ilya Protas in that coveted category. Protas reached the 50 goal mark with a hat trick on Saturday as the visiting Spitfires gained a point from a 6-5 overtime loss to the Saginaw Spirit.
