Spitfires up two on Soo
Local lad Noah Morneau netted three goals and the Spitfires soared to a 7-1 win over the Soo Greyhounds tonight to take a two games to none lead in their opening round Ontario Hockey League playoff series.


Games 3 and 4 in the Western Conference playoffs are set for Sault Ste. Marie on Monday and Wednesday of next week.
Windsor, which won Game 1 at home by a 7-2 score, followed up with more of the same in Game 2.
Besides the hat trick from Morneau, captain Liam Greentree, A.J. Spellacy, rookie forward Ethan Garden and rookie defenseman Carter Hicks also scored for the Spitfires in front of a home crowd of 5,640 at the WFCU Centre. Ilya Protas chipped in with three assists for the Spits, giving the import rookie seven helpers in the two playoff games to date.
Joey Costanzo made 24 saves for the Spitfires, who outshot the the Greyhounds by a 34-25 margin. Owen Allard scored the lone goal for the Soo.
