Well seasoned Windsor Spitfires forward Ryan Abraham is headed to play at the Division 1, National Collegiate Athletic Association level effective the ’25-26 season.

A 2004 birth year skater, Abraham is venturing up north to Houghton, Michigan to play for the Michigan Tech Huskies and long time, reputable head coach Joey Shawhan.

Shawhan is a Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan native who has coached at Michigan Tech for more than a decade with success that includes multiple trips to the national championship tournament.

As for Abraham, who is a former first round Ontario Hockey League draft pick by the Spitfires, the Michigan born forward has played his entire OHL career in Windsor. Abraham has played in 223 regular season games and has 84 goals, 129 assists, 213 points. He also has 19 points in 30 career playoff games for the Spitfires to date.
