Spits soaring at 10-1-1
The top team in the Ontario Hockey League added to its win total on Saturday. Windsor Spitfires edged the visiting Niagara IceDogs 2-1 before more than 5,000 fans at the WFCU Center.

The Spitfires now have a record of 10-1-1 and have won five straight games. Windsor is 5-0-0 at home and 5-1-1 on the road. The Spitfires are home to the Soo Greyhounds on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.. The surging Greyhounds have won four games in a row for an overall record of 7-5-0.
Spitfires goalie Joey Costanzo continued his sensational play in the win over his former Niagara team. He made 32 saves in improving his record to a spotless 9-0-0 to go with a 1.89 goals against average and .936 save percentage. Costanzo won just 10 games all of last season for a Windsor team that finished 19th in the 20 team OHL with a record of 18-42-8.
Jack Nesbitt, with his ninth of the season and A.J. Spellacy, with his fourth, took care of the scoring for the Spitfires.
ICE CHIPS: Jack Nesbitt has already matched his goal total from his rookie season of ’23-24.
