Spitfires take 3-1 lead
Playing without five injured regulars, the resilient Windsor Spitfires sent a message tonight with a 4-1 road victory over the Soo Greyhounds in Game 4 of their first round Ontario Hockey League playoff series.
Overage stalwart Noah Morneau — a former 15th round pick of the Spitfires — and import rookie Ilya Protas tallied twice apiece and goalie Joey Costanzo made 23 saves as the visitors from Windsor took a three games to one lead on the Soo in the best of seven Western Conference set. Morneau now has seven goals in the series.
Game 5 in the series is slated for Friday night at 7:05 at the WFCU Center in Windsor. The Spitfires can end the series with a win.
