Spitfires cuff the Wolves
And the winning continues. The Spitfires won for the ninth time in their last 10 outings on Thursday with a decisive 6-2 drubbing of the visiting Sudbury Wolves.
Windsor now has a record of 31-8-3, which is second best among the 20 teams of the Ontario Hockey League.
Spitfires captain — and Team Canada snub — Liam Greentree potted his 31st and 32nd goals of the season to pace the Windsor attack. Ilya Protas with his 30th, Luke McNamara and defensemen Tnias Mathurin and Anthony Cristoforo also found range for the Spitfires in support of goalie Joey Costanzo, who won his league leading 25th game of the season.
The goal for McNamara was the first as a Spitfire for the big forward, who was acquired by Windsor from the Kingston Frontenacs at the OHL trade deadline.
