The Spitfires are two thirds into the ’24-25 Ontario Hockey League regular season and have rebounded in fine fashion from a ’23-24 campaign in which they won just 18 of 68 games and missed the Western Conference playoffs by more than 20 points.

To date: Windsor is the second seed among the 10 teams of the Western Conference with record of 31-10-3, good for 65 points.

Up next: The Spitfires are at Sarnia to face the Sting on Friday night at 7:05 before returning home to play host to the Brampton Steelheads on Sunday in a 4:05 p.m. start at the WFCU Center. The game against Brampton will be the first of seven straight home contests for the Spitfires.

Home and away: Windsor has a league best home record of 17-2-1 and is a rather impressive 14-8-2 on the road.

Point producers: Captain Liam Greentree tops the Spitfire scoring chart with 32 goals, 44 assists, 76 points and import forward and fellow National Hockey League draft pick Ilya Protas is close behind with 30-40-70 totals.

Balanced attack: Besides Greentree’s 32 goals and the 30 from Protas the Spitfires have seven other players who have scored in double digits so far. They are Jack Nesbitt (17), Cole Davis (16), Ryan Abraham (15), Noah Morneau (14), Ethan Belchetz (12), A.J. Spellacy (11) and defenseman Anthony Cristorforo (10.)

On the plus side: Greentree is Windsor’s plus-minus leader with a +34 while Protas and Cristoforo are both at +33.

Net worth: Veteran Joey Costanzo has been a workhorse goalie and has workmanlike stats to show for it with a record of 25-8-1 to go with a 2.75 goals against average and .904 save percentage.

Two for Luke: After scoring six goals in 36 games for Kingston, hulking forward Luke McNamara has tallied twice in five outings since the Spitfires acquired him from the Frontenacs at the January 10 OHL trade deadline.
