Froggett holds the fort
Rookie goalie Carter Froggett fashioned his finest outing in a Spitfires uniform on Friday. The big backstop made 15 saves in the first period and 29 of 30 overall as Windsor rang up a 3-1 road victory over the Kitchener Rangers to improve their record to 16-5-2 on the ’24-25 Ontario Hockey League season.
Froggett was at his best in the first period when the Spitfires were outshot by a 16-3 margin but the Rangers had a mere 1-0 lead. Windsor then took control and outshot Kitchener 37-14 the rest of the way and got goals from Liam Greentree, Noah Morneau and A.J. Spellacy to take the win.
As for Froggett, the backup to veteran starter Joey Costanzo improved his record to 3-1-1 on the season to go with a 3.58 goals against average and .876 save percentage.
The Spitfires, who now have a road record of 8-3-2, are home to the Ottawa 67’s on Saturday in a 7:05 p.m. start at the WFCU Center.
