Essex ousts Lakeshore
The season is over for the reigning Provincial Jr. C Hockey League champion Lakeshore Canadiens. Arch rival Essex 73’s scored their third straight road win of the series on Tuesday to take the best of seven West Stobbs Division final over Lakeshore four games to two in front of more than 1,000 fans at the Atlas Tube Centre.
Patrick McManus (in photo) scored twice as did Marcus Levesque to propel Essex to a 5-3 win over Lakeshore. McManus now has nine goals in 13 playoff games this spring.
Karson Beuglet also scored for Essex while Nic Rosati, Marco Sladoje and Kyle Greene replied for Lakeshore.
The series win for Essex gives the 73’s their first West Stobbs Division title since 2017 and ended a five year run by Lakeshore.
