A familiar face has joined the credible coaching staff of the Spitfires. Well known Windsor resident Rob Maggio is on board with the Ontario Hockey League team as its newly hired strength and conditioning coach.

Maggio (in photo at left) did a previous tour in the same role with both the Spitfires and the Oshawa Generals of the OHL and has also had an association with the St. Clair College Saints and the University of Windsor Lancers et al.

Spitfires’ general manager Billy Bowler commented on the return of Maggio.

“We are happy to add Rob Maggio to our organization as strength and conditioning coach,” said Bowler. “This role is integral to the development of our players. Rob is familiar with our organization.”

Here is how the lead roles in the Spitfire hockey department now stand ahead of the 2024-2025 OHL season — with a nutrition coach to be added next month, Hockey News Windsor has confirmed.
