Spitfires are in high flight
The Spitfires are in sync. Windsor won again tonight, a tidy 3-0 whitewash of the visiting Erie Otters. After a sluggish start to the ’26-27 Ontario Hockey League season, the Spitfires have a record of 3-0-1 in their last four outings and have now crossed the .500 level with an overall mark of 6-5-3.
Game Story. The Spitfires got 27 saves from Michael Newlove in a sparkling performance and goals from Michal Svrcek, Max Brocklehurst and Hamza Havusic en route to tonight’s win over Erie in a match of opponents in the hotly contested Western Conference of the OHL. Rookie centre Ty Bergeron turned in a strong effort for the Spitfires and had two assists. After going point-less in his first 10 games this season, Bergeron has two goals, three assists, five points in his last four outings.
In And Out. Rookie defenseman Sam Wathier returned to the Windsor lineup tonight after being sidelined by injury since Sept. 26. Meanwhile, second-year Spits defenseman Andrew Robinson did not play tonight due to injury.
