Tecumseh takes BHL title
Regular season champs. Playoff champs. Two for the price of one. Tecumseh Eagles completed a two game best of three take down of the Kent Cobras tonight with a spine-tingling shootout win to lay claim to the Under 15 rep level Bluewater Hockey League title.
Freewheeling forward Carter Pluss found range for the only regulation time tally for Tecumseh before Kent sent the well played match to overtime by scoring with 90 seconds left on the clock.
Following a five minute overtime and the game still in a 1-1 deadlock, a five round shootout followed.

Pluss opened the scoring for Tecumseh and Dom Barry followed suit to make it 2-0 for the visitors before Kent clicked to close within one. Later, when Tecumseh missed on its fifth shot and Kent had a chance to further extend the shootout, Eagles goalie Owen Whitehead denied the Cobras with a pad save.
Tecumseh — which had a regular season record of 15-5-1 followed by a near perfect playoff mark of 9-0-1 — will now represent the BHL at the Ontario provincial championships in Whitby next month.
