Mount Brydges v. Exeter

It won’t be a typical no.1 seed v. no. 5 seed matchup when the Exeter Hawks meet the Mount Brydges Bulldogs in the second round of the Provincial Jr. Hockey League’s West Yeck Division playoffs.

That is because in finishing in fifth place in the Yeck Division with 52 points from a record of 24-14-4, Mount Brydges was a mere five points behind Exeter, which had a mark of 27-12-3.

The best of seven series begins on Friday of this week in Exeter. Game 2 is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Tri Town Ice Arena in Mount Brydges.

The Bulldogs advanced to the second round by upending the no. 4 seed Petrolia Flyers four games to one. Exeter,  meanwhile, blanked the no. 8 seed Lucan Irish in that first round set.
