U15 Eagles a perfect 4-0
Tecumseh Eagles won all four of their games — three in decisive fashion — in the 2011 age group of the Belle River District Minor Hockey Association’s pre season challenge tournament that was held this weekend.
But in what can be best described — we are trying to be nice here — as a puzzling format that might best be left for the organizers to try to explain, Tecumseh was one of two teams from the West Division of the tournament to win all four of its games but not make it to the playoff round.
Regardless, it was an impressive performance put forth by head coach Jeff Smith and his well prepared U15 Eagles.
Tecumseh 4, West Coast 3. The 15 Eagles skated to a hard fought victory to begin the tournament. Carter Pluss potted three goals, defenseman Ethan Ford fired home the other and goalie Owen Whitehead made several key stops as Tecumseh edged the West Coast Whitecaps 4-3.
Tecumseh 7, Tri Centre 2. Fulton Flanagan found the back of the net twice and Dominick Barry, Sebastian Lehoux, Carter Pluss, Levi Yates and Wesley Smith all scored once apiece as Tecumseh overwhelmed the Tri Centre Jr. Attack by a 7-2 margin. Goalie Christian Zgomba came up big on two particular occasions in the Tecumseh net when he stopped clear cut breakaways.
Tecumseh 5, Southeast 1. The U15 Eagles made it three straight wins by upending the Southeast Surge. Carter PIuss sparked Tecumseh with a pair of goals. Solo tallies were scored by Fulton Flanagan, Nash Lemay and Sebastian Lehoux in support of winning goalie Owen Whitehead.
Tecumseh 6, Pelham 1. The U15 Eagles capped a perfect weekend by routing the Panthers. Carter Pluss connected for two more goals while Fulton Flanagan, Nash Lemay, Sebastian Lehoux and Michael Janceski all found range once. Goalie Christian Zgomba had the win for Tecumseh.

I was at all 4 games and was upset that this team who won all games could not move on to show their true ability!
Watching all 4 games I noticed a real star rising in Carter Pluss! I had him with 9 Goals and 4 assists. It was his speed and determination that shined!
My compliments to the Coach for finding another true lover of the game. A great addition and another great teammate to a super bunch of talented players.
