Flint a firm fit for free agent
He has hockey bloodlines that flow deep through his father and grand father. And 2008 birth year defenseman George Komadoski can potentially play the next three or four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League for the Flint Firebirds.

Flint has firmed up the free agent signing of the 6 foot 3 Komadoski, a St. Louis, Missouri native who played the ’24-25 season for Mount St. Charles Academy in Rhode Island, where he put up 20 assists in 57 games.
“Flint seems like the perfect fit for me,” Komadoski said. “I can’t wait to get to work with the Firebirds and the coaching staff.”
Komadoski’s father, Neil Komadoski Jr., played four full years of Division 1, National Collegiate Athletic Association hockey at the prestigious University Of Notre Dame. He then spent five seasons at the minor pro level in the American Hockey League for the Binghamton Senators and Peoria Rivermen — and is currently a National Hockey League scout for the Vancouver Canucks. Additionally, George’s grand father, Neil Komadoski Sr., played in more than 500 NHL games over eight seasons with the Los Angeles Kings and St. Louis Blues.
Firebirds head scout Mike Oliverio gave his take on the signing of young Komadoski.
“George is a big body, right handed defenseman who moves the puck north quickly. He plays a very mature game and seldom chases the play. He uses a very active stick to anticipate and disrupt the oppositions offense and plays with bit of an edge, making him difficult to handle along the wall as he competes and battles for loose pucks,” noted Oliverio.
