He was bypassed entirely at the 2024 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft due to a verbal commitment to Penn State University. But after being taken by the Windsor Spitfires in the fifth round of the 2025 draft, 2008 birth year forward Caden Harvey has signed with the OHL team ahead of the ’25-26 season.

The 6 foot 1, 175 pound Harvey starred for the AAA level Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins the past two seasons. In total, he scored 75 goals, 92 assists, 167 points over the course of the ’23-24 and ’24-25 seasons.

“It feels amazing, being able to sign to the Spitfires is a huge honour … the coaching is top notch, and I feel that playing in the OHL for Windsor is going to be the best option for me to develop best as a person and a player,” said Harvey.

Spitfires general manager Billy Bowler touted the commitment of Harvey as a “great signing”, adding that he expects the Pennsylvania product to “be able to play in all situations. We expect him to make an immediate impact.

“You see the points, but we see a very versatile player. He’s not just a points guy, but with his size, skating and being a right shot, which was a need for us, he just checks so many boxes,” Bowler added in further summation of Harvey.
