Spits sign second selection

Jean-Christoph Lemieux is signed and sealed to the Spitfires. Windsor took the 6 foot, 173 pound  forward in the second round, 22nd overall, of the 2024 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft.

Hailing from Gatineau, Quebec, Lemieux skated for the Quinte Red Devils in 2023-2024. Regular season and playoffs included, he totalled 29 goals, 50 assists, 79 points in 44 games for Quinte.

Lemieux is certainly pumped to be be a Spitfire.

“It’s an honour to sign with such a great organization … all the staff and players made me feel comfortable.” Lemieux said.

Spitfires general manager Billy Bowler took note of the signing.

“J.C is a versatile forward who is great in small areas and plays with an edge,” relayed Bowler. “We welcome J.C and his family to the organization and the City of Windsor.”

The signing of Lemieux follows the earlier commitment to the Spitfires by hulking forward Ethan Belchetz, who Windsor made the first overall pick of this year’s OHL priority selections process.
