Camp calls for Spitfires

Three days of training camp followed by an Ontario Hockey League exhibition slate awaits the Windsor Spitfires. Seven goalies, 15 defensemen and 29 forwards are expected at the three day main camp, which is scheduled for Thursday August 29, Friday August 30 and Saturday August 31 at the WFCU Centre.

Among those in attendance will be six players from the 2024 OHL priority selections draft who have already been signed by the Spitfires — forwards Ethan Belchetz, J.C. Lemieux, Max Brocklehurst and Ethan Garden, defenseman Carter Hicks and goalie Jake Windbiel.

All practices and games are open to the public and are free of charge.

Thursday August 29

5 p.m. – Practice – Team Red

6 p.m. – Practice – Team White

7 p.m. – Practice – Team Blue

Friday August 30

9 a.m. – GAME – Team White vs Team Blue

10:15 a.m. – GAME – Team White vs Team Red

11:30 a.m. – GAME – Team Blue vs Team Red

5 p.m. – GAME – Team White vs Team Red

6:15 p.m. – GAME – Team Red vs Team Blue

7:30 p.m. – GAME – Team Blue vs Team White

Saturday August 31

9 a.m. – SKILLS – Team White

10:15 a.m. – SKILLS – Team Blue

4 p.m. – GAME – Annual Team Blue vs Team White (full game.)

Following the completion of training Camp, the Spitfires will open pre-season play at home on September 6 vs. the Sarnia Sting with puck drop at 7:05 p.m.

The Spitfires will then head to Flint on Sunday September 8 for a 4:00 p.m. puck drop at the Iceland Arena.

The Spitfires will have a few days of practice before the next pre-season game in Sarnia on September 17 with a 7:05 p.m. face off. The Spitfires will then return home two days later to play Flint on September 19 at 7:05 p.m. at the Vollmer Complex in LaSalle. The Spitfires will then round out pre-season play on September 21 vs. the Niagara Ice Dogs at 7:05 p.m. at the Atlas Tube Centre in Lakeshore.
