Windsor Spitfires capped a three point, home ice weekend today with 7-4 come from behind victory over the Saginaw Spirit. The win came after the Spitfires snagged a point from a 3-2 shootout loss to the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday.

As it now stands, the Spitfires have a record of 20-6-3 as they continue to establish themselves as a legit Ontario Hockey League contender 29 games into this ’24-25 season. Windsor won only 18 of 68 games in missing the playoffs in ’23-24.

Today’s win was an improbable one for the Spitfires, who trailed 3-0 at one point in the first period.

Several skaters had multiple point performances for the Spitfires today. Ilya Protas had two goals and two assists, A.J. Spellacy came through with two goals and an assist while Liam Greentree and Jack Nesbitt both had one goal/two assist outings.

Rookie forward Ethan Belchetz rounded out the Windsor scoring with his ninth goal of the season.
