Essex, Lakeshore are 1-2
A mere four points separate the Essex 73’s and Lakeshore Canadiens atop the standings of the eight teams of the West Stobbs Division of the Provincial Jr. C Hockey League.
Essex has 48 points from a record of 24-2-0 and has two games in hand on second seed Lakeshore, which has 44 points via 22-6-0 showing.
As a look ahead, the two teams will face off on Friday, January 3 as Essex visits Lakeshore for a 7 p.m. match at the Atlas Tube Center in Belle River.
Both teams have high scoring forwards to draw from.
Pat McManus, Austin Guevremont and Gabe Piccolo have tallied 19 goals apiece for Essex. Meanwhile, Lakeshore is led by Trevor Larue with his 25 goals and Marco Sladoje, who has tallied 24 times.
